Key product capabilities.
The crucial characteristics buyers evaluate when selecting Tissue Tape for industrial applications.
Tissue carrier as thin as 80 microns creates a virtually invisible bond line between mating surfaces.
High-tack adhesive on both sides provides instant bonding for splicing, laminating, and mounting applications.
Aggressive initial tack allows immediate handling of bonded assemblies without clamping or curing time.
What this tape is made for.
Tissue tape is the unsung workhorse of countless manufacturing and converting processes. This double-sided adhesive tape uses an ultra-thin non-woven tissue paper as its carrier, resulting in a total thickness as low as 80 microns. This minimal profile makes it ideal for applications where the bond line must be virtually invisible — from splicing operations on printing presses to laminating decorative surfaces.
The adhesive system — available in both water-based acrylic and hot-melt rubber formulations — is applied to both sides of the tissue carrier and protected by a siliconized paper release liner. The acrylic variant offers superior aging resistance and temperature performance, while the hot-melt option provides higher initial tack for challenging substrates.
In the printing and converting industries, tissue tape is the standard material for flying splices — the process of joining the tail of an expiring roll to the lead of a new roll while the press is running at full speed. In manufacturing, it's used for permanent mounting of nameplates, labels, and decorative trims where mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives are impractical.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common inquiries regarding our Tissue Tape manufacturing and supply.
Tissue tape uses an ultra-thin tissue carrier (80-150μ) for minimal bond line, while foam tape uses a thicker foam carrier (0.5-3mm) that fills gaps and absorbs vibration. Choose tissue for thin, flush bonds and foam for gap-filling applications.
Yes, tissue tape has excellent die-cutting properties due to its thin, uniform construction. We can supply custom die-cut shapes for automated assembly line applications.
Our acrylic tissue tape variants offer good UV and moisture resistance for semi-outdoor use. For fully exposed outdoor applications, we recommend double-sided acrylic foam tape instead.
